TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING THE COVENANT DEMANDS FOR SUPERNATURAL SUPPLY
TEXT: Gen.8:22, Deut.8:17-18, Gal.6:7
INTRODUCTION:
We MUST understand that this earth is built on
truthful covenants. In other for us to sustain the covenant obligations, we
must operate and keep the covenant for the blessings to be delivered. God only
bless his people by covenant.
THE COVENANT DEMANDS FOR SUPERNATURAL SUPPLY
1. BY SEEKING FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS
RIGHTEOUSNESS. We must make God our first priority. Matt.6:32-36, 2 Chron.
26:5.
2. SET YOUR LOVE ON GOD: God should be
your affection, direct your attention on God. Let nothing take the place of God
in your life. Hold fast God with all sense of jealousy. 1Chron.2:9-10, 1Kings
10:23, 3:3-4. Let nothing come in between your love for God. Your love for God
will always usher you into the realms of blessings beyond your imaginations.
3. LOOK UPON GOD AND DON'T EVER TRUST IN MEN: Look
away from men but set your eyes on God. Jer.17:5-8, Gen.14:23.
All help comes from God, no man
can truly bless a man if God didn't touch men to bless you. To submit to men is
to fail but to submit to God is to succeed. You should know that God is the
source. God can use men use your church, business, and work etc. as a channel
to bless you, but don't let those channels to be the source. God is the source
of all blessings. Man can be your channel but MUST NOT be your source.
4. BE COMMITTED TO KINGDOM PRACTICES OF
TITHING AND GIVING: Why you must be committed to giving and tithing
is "because God is the one that gives us the power to get the
wealth and blessings" Deut.8:18, 2Corinth.9:6-7, Mal.3:10.
NOTE: “Don't be smiling when you receive the truth, act on
it".
5. BE FAITHFUL: Faithfulness is
having an integrity especially to financial matters. Prov.28:20, Gen.39:5-6.
NOTE: "That you are there does not mean that you are
involved".
6. BE DILIGENT: This means to be
responsible and hardworking with your hands. Deut.28:8, Prov.10:4
7. AVOID DEBTS: Don't
ever be a borrower, when you become a borrower, you are telling God that He
cannot fulfill His part. When you don't have, don't go and borrow to eat or
feed your family. It is an anti-covenant. It is an insult to God. When you need
something, lift up your hands to God and look upon Him and ask. Prov.22:7,
Rom.13:8
8. AVOID WASTEFULNESS: Prov.18:9,
Gen.41:35. What you don't want don't buy. If you don't need it, don't buy.
Don't let anyone to force you to buy what you don't want.
9. BE THANKFUL ALWAYS TO
GOD: We must thank God for everything either in good or bad times.
Thank God for the level you are, because the level you are aspiring to be,
somebody is desiring to be in the level you are. So be thankful at the level
you are.
